Common Questions

Is travel funding available? +

Travel funding is not available. Consciousness Commons is intentionally scheduled immediately following ASSC 2026 in Santiago, Chile — so if you're already attending the conference, additional travel is not necessary. We also highly encourage local researchers based in Santiago and the surrounding region to apply.

Can I apply without prior experience with Cogitate datasets? +

Yes. You need sufficient technical capacity to analyse data, or a strong willingness to develop these skills during the project.

Do I need to attend ASSC 2026 to participate? +

No — Consciousness Commons is a satellite event of ASSC, but attending the main conference is not required. You only need to be available July 4–5 in Santiago and for the pre-event virtual kick-off in May.

When will I hear back after applying? +

All applicants will be notified between April 22–27, 2026.
